Prelude No. 1, by Ney Rosauro

Toshimitsu Tanaka's "Two Movements for Marimba" was written in 1965 and is a showpiece exploiting many of the modern day marimba techniques. These techniques began to take shape in the time just after the second World War. The first movement is structured in a relentless, driving tempo.
